The finance committee chair is typically the person responsible for the organization's funds—the treasurer. This role focuses on budgeting, financial controls, and reporting, so someone already handling financial records, cash flow, and financial statements is naturally best suited to lead the committee. As chair, they set meetings’ agendas, steer discussions on financial policy, and ensure follow-through on decisions, while coordinating with the rest of the board and any auditors or advisors.

The secretary handles minutes and records, the president oversees the entire organization, and the vice president supports leadership and may chair various committees in some bylaws.
